How does your dog travel in the car? Many of us are familiar with the common sight of seeing dogs sitting on drivers laps with their heads hanging out of the window. Many are responsible for doing this themselves. Did you know that last year in one month alone 170 people were fined more than $400 a piece for this breach of the law. Legislation for dogs in cars stipulates that motorists must not drive a vehicle with an animal on their lap or preventing them from having proper control of the ...

GPS tracking for your dog
POSTED ON Jan 17, 2012
Many of you may have seen the posters, the tweets and Facebook updates about Rusty, the Welsh Springer Spaniel who has been missing since NYE.
Over the course of two weeks, Rusty has been sighted several times in the Seafroth and Balgowlah areas and we are still urging and asking people to keep a look out for him and not to give up.
Rusty's sad story has had our staff thinking. What if we could GPS track our dogs? Well, we researched and apparently we can!!!

Scoobydooz has a new home
POSTED ON Sep 14, 2011
We have finally excited to announce our new home. It has been a long time coming and staff have worked hard to prepare the new space alongside a great team of tradespeople.
We are open and operational, however there are still some items left for us to finish, such as another fence which will open the first area up to a big play area, windows and painting.
We look forward to showing all clients, both new and existing, our wonderful new home.

Tick season is here already!!
POSTED ON Aug 03, 2011
Tick season appears to be heading towards us, and this year its early!
Already in the last 3 days our groomers have found 5 paralysis ticks upon dogs who have come into our grooming salon.
This is a timely reminder that you should check your dogs all year around for these nasty little critters. Our dogs usually have longer coats throughout the winter months so it is even more important that you remain vigilent, especially if your dog has been to areas that are well known for ticks.
You will find a...
Winter Grooming
POSTED ON Jun 20, 2011
Dont want your dogs coat to go too short in winter??
During the winter months many Grooming clients ask us not to clip their dogs too short. We love to do longer clips on our furry friends, however with that comes much more responsibility for our pets owners.
To do a longer style clip on your dog, its coat must be in good condition. Good condition means no knots, no matts and no tight curls.
Scoobydooz suggest combing the coat throughout winter rather than brushing. Unless using the...

Confessions of a pampered princess
POSTED ON Oct 01, 2010
My name is Lexie. I am a 4 year old Shihtzu and I live with my owner in freshwater. I go everywhere with her, until she has to work!! That’s when I come to my second home Scoobydooz. I’m here every day and I have a very important role. I’m the PA (pawsonel assistant).
On my average day I pull up into the Scoobydooz car park in my gunmetal grey chariot. The window is down. The wind in my hair. Life is good. She lifts me out of the car as if I’m a delicate flower and...
