GPS tracking for your dog!!!

Have you seen Rusty?

Many of you may have seen the posters, the tweets and  Facebook updates about Rusty, the Welsh Springer Spaniel who has been missing since NYE.

Over the course of two weeks, Rusty has been sighted several times in the Seaforth and Balgowlah areas and we are still urging and asking people to keep a look out for him and not give up.

Rusty's sad story has had our staff thinking, 'what if we could GPS track our dogs'?  Well, we researched and apparently we can!!

Trakapet is a  GPS system that works by attaching a small locator to your dogs collar.  You can set up a boundary area, and if your dog travels outside the chosen area you receive a text message to let you know their whereabouts.  You can then send a simple message to the locator and it will respond with a map of where the dog is located.

Please remember: If you see Rusty.  Do not chase after him.  He is scared.  The best thing to do is sit down calmly and try to encourage him towards you with small pieces of food.

Social Walk

The Scooby’s gang will be holding a ‘Social Walk’ on Sunday 29th January. We will be meeing at Ocean World in Manly at 10am and will have a slow steady walk around to North Harbour Reserve. Once at North Harbour Reserve the dogs can have a run, a play and go for a swim.  Everyone is welcome and it gives both owners and their dogs a chance to meet the staff and customers outside of Scooby’s. You can join us on the walk or meet us at North Harbour Reserve.

Australia Day is for dogs too!!!

ScoobyDooz will be celebrating Australia Day on January 25th.  Bring your pooch to daycare for lots of Aussie Activities.  Spray your dog green and gold, let them enjoy a doggy Anzac biscuit and allow them to join in with our Australia day activities such as indoor cricket (the dogs are the fielders).  Paddling pools will be available and photos will be taken throughout the day by our staff.  Money raised from the sale of Anzac biscuits will go towards Assistance Dogs Australia.
